My Pen Collection 2021
In early January I wrote about my ink collection and I mentioned that I’d be writing an update on my pens as well. It’s taken a while because there has been a lot of photos taken for this! This is a long, so I’d understand if you skim the stats and my thoughts on the…

State of the Union 2019: Fountain Pen Ink
In 2017 I wrote my first “State of the Union” where I discussed ink brands, what they had done, and what I wanted them to do in 2018. In 2018 I did the same for 2019. This year’s has been delayed, unfortunately! I really want to get these out before the new year, but sometimes…

My Pen Collection 2019
Within the theme of my ink collection, this is my pen collection. Over a year and a half ago I wrote about my pen collection and while a lot has changed, the collection has only grown by around 10 (in this post and the previous I have not counted cheap $5 Chinese pens but I…

State of the Union 2018: Fountain Pen Ink
Last year I talked about what ink brands had done that year and what I hoped for this year. In this article I’m doing the same thing again. How many of my hopes were realised? What did the brand do? What do I want from them in 2019 and has that changed from what I…

Ink Review: Bungubox Nostalgia
Sailor Bungubox Nostalgia doesn’t get that much love around the the ink review world and as far as I can see it has fallen a bit by the wayside. It’s a nice brown but I mainly bought the ink 2 years ago because of the evocative name and label. The sepia colour is also a…

Ink Review: Noodler’s Dromgoole’s Banker’s Tan
Noodler’s Dromgoole’s Banker’s Tan (that is a lot of apostrophes) is a Noodler’s ink that was until recently exclusive to the Dromgoole’s store in Texas which is where I bought my bottles from. It is now also purchasable from Vanness Pens. The bottles were originally made in 2015 for the Dallas Pen Show for Dromgoole’s.…

Ink Comparison: Montblanc Honoré de Balzac Dandy Turquoise
Montblanc Honoré de Balzac Dandy Turquoise is a well regarded discontinued Montblanc ink. Because it’s discontinued it commands a premium price on the second hand market. However, while it is a well behaved and pretty ink I always felt it was quite similar to other turquoise coloured inks out there.

Ink Review Noodler’s Blue Straits of Malacca
Noodler’s Blue Straits of Malacca isn’t really a sequel to “Noodler’s Pacific Dawn at the Golden Gate” as the theme, although water based like Pacific Dawn loosely is, is appropriately related to Singapore rather than San Fransisco this time. Like Pacific Dawn, again, Blue Straits of Malacca is exclusive to Straits Pen in Singapore (who…
